You have created a wonderful back story not only for Bootstrap but also for Jack and the history of their relationship - all nicely told through the eyes of Maggie. I really enjoyed reading it.
The characterization of loyal, kind and just a bit slow works well for Bill Turner. It isn't difficult to see those traits in him as we got to know him a little in canon.
