Anyway.
I always wanted to finish them and now, I am determined to do my level best. No. Not my best. I WILL do it. I will finish Immortal Beloved 2.
But let us go back to the beginning. On my dreamwidth I will post every chapter of Jack's story of life with Sarah Margita. The first fic will have a different name now. Instead of Life After Loss the fic will now to be titled; Pirates of the Caribbean; The Cursed Island.
The man, dark haired and dressed in the style of the country he was visiting, glanced at the demure figure walking beside him. She was veiled head to toe in dark green silk, below that, yellow, still further below, golden gauze as delicate as butterflies wings. In fact, seven layers covered her in all; ‘neath which her scantily clad body was not demure at all.

*Sarai was a woman in the Old Testament, wife of Abraham. She came into Pharaoh's presence while her husband was traveling, and claimed to be Abraham's sister, so Pharaoh would not kill the men and claim her. He still desired her for himself, though he did not touch her. At the time, she was approximately eighty years of age, and still a looker.
**Scheherazade is from Arabian Nights. To save herself from being executed by her husband the king, she began an exciting story every night, and did not finish it "until tomorrow." By telling over a hundred stories, she saved her life and caused the king to fall in love with her and therefore spare her life.

Summary: The etymology of Nirvana is a compound of the prefix "nir" which means "without" and the root "vana", translated as "blowing" as in "blowing of the wind."
Author's Notes: Jack behaved so oddly on the Isle of Cruces...more than usual I mean. I wanted to understand why he was sitting zazen in a meditation posture, and this silly little notion was born. It's a bit over 100 words, sorry!
Jack wandered widely, six of the years without his ship. In South Asia he found Buddhists, and was charmed by their hospitality and the simplicity of their Eight-Fold Path: Jack disliked religions that demanded he worship anyone besides himself. Though doubtful of their self-denial, he was intrigued enough to take up a few practices.
Close to his goal, Jack strove for inner peace. The clunk of shovel hitting wood made his eyes fly open anticipatorily. Unfurling, he had time for a revelation.
Why would he want to achieve a "place of no wind"?

*A reference to a novel called Lord of Light, by Roger Zelazny, about a world patterned after Hindu mythology. The people who had become 'gods' could take on an Aspect and raise up an Attribute. Thus, Sarah is Ratri the Goddess of the Night, whose radiance drives out the night. And Jack is Lord Krishna, whose Attribute in the novel is divine drunkenness and lechery. But it’s also said that when sober, he is one of the deadliest fighters alive.
